BARTSITS BELLA URYSKANOVNA

Abkhazian poetess, publicist, was born 23.02.1945 in the village of Bzypta, Gagra district, Abkhazian ASSR.
Since 1997 she has been a member of the Union of Writers of Abkhazia, since 2023 - of the Association of Writers of Abkhazia.
In 2015, she was awarded the Order "Akhidz-Apsha" ("Honour and Glory") of the III degree of the Republic of Abkhazia.
She writes in the Abkhazian language.
She graduated high school in 1966.
After graduating from high school she worked as an announcer, correspondent of Gagra radio station.
In 1974, she graduated from the Philological Faculty of the A.M. Gorky Sukhumi State Pedagogical Institute.
She's been in print since 1970.
At different times she worked as a teacher at Gagra secondary school No. 5, as an employee of the district newspaper Avangard (now Gagra Vestnik).
From 1995-1996, she was a member of the presidium of the «Asadz» Artists Association.
Her works were published in the magazines «Alashara» («Light»), «Akua-Sukhum»; newspapers «Apsny Kapsh» («Red Abkhazia»), «Apsny», «Etsvadzhaa» («Constellation») and others. Her individual artistic studies are devoted to the creative endeavours of the outstanding Abkhaz composer and choirmaster, People's Artist of Abkhazia R. Gumba. A number of songs are based on the words of the poetess. She is the author of several collections of poetry and journalistic essays. Her works were included in the "Anthology of Abkhazian poetry of the XX century" (compiled by M. T. Lasuria), Sukhum - M., 2009.
