He was born on 20 August 1912 in the village of Atara, Ochamchira district.
Abkhazian Soviet writer, poet, translator. Pilot.
In 1938, he graduated from the Odessa Military Flying School and was sent to serve in the Central Asian Military District. He mastered various bombers ("ANT-40", "R-5", "Pe-2", etc.). Served in Chkalov. Before the beginning of the Patriotic War he was sent to the Air Force Academy to continue his studies.Participant of the Great Patriotic War. Lieutenant, pilot of the 386th night bomber aviation Novgorod regiment. Participant of the Battle of Moscow, fought on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Baltic Fronts, Volkhov, Leningrad and 1st Belorussian Fronts. He made 415 combat sorties. Destroyed or damaged: vehicles with troops and cargo - 13, anti-aircraft points - 16, railway wagons - 5, searchlights - 5, a warehouse with fuel - 1, bombs caused 6 fires of great force and destroyed the railway bed on the section of 2 kilometres" (April 21, 1944).
He was awarded the Order of the Red Banner, the Order of the Patriotic War of I and II degrees, and medals of the USSR. By the end of the war he held the rank of Major, regiment commander.
He made his debut as a poet.
As a novelist he debuted in 1955 in the magazine "Alashara" ("Light") with the story "It's not an accident, dud!". His works were published in magazines and newspapers of Abkhazia, as well as in the magazines "Science and Religion" and "Soviet Warrior". He wrote in the Abkhazian language.
Author of many short stories, novels and essays.
Some of his works were published in Russian and Georgian.
He has been involved in translations into Abkhazian, including works by A. Gaidar, V. Kataev, senior editor of the Alashara publishing house. He translated works by N. Dumbadze, F. Iskander, H. Andersen and others. After the war he worked as a senior editor of "Alashara" publishing house.

He died in August 1992 in the village of Lykhny, Abkhazia. After the end of the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict, his ashes were moved to Sukhum.
